On March 27, as part of the International Forum “Russian Film Business 2024,” a discussion was held between Russia’s first digital film festival platform, Patriki Film Festival, on the topic “Innovations in the film business: how to promote content on platforms.”
The discussion was moderated by film journalist, producer, and curator of the “Producer’s Challenge” program at the Patriki Film Festival, Susanna Alperina.
Speakers of the discussion:
Alexey Bokov - founder of Patriki Film Festival;
Yuri Yarushnikov - founder of XOVP;
Ksenia Boletskaya - director for interaction with industry at Yandex;
Ivan Lopatin - Russian producer, founder of the Livandia film company, founder of the KinoReel telegram channel;
Ksenia Moiseeva - Director of the Special Projects Department of Independent Media;
Katerina Mikhailova is a producer, general director of VEGA Film, co-founder of WRAP - the Association of Women Film Producers of Russia.
“As part of the conversation, Alexey Bokov spoke about the history of the Patriki Film Festival. What started as an ordinary offline festival, due to the pandemic, it was forced to move online. Since then, his audience has grown to 2 million people, and he has 150 thousand personal accounts. The show has an international program and jury; the institution participates in many different collaborations, from the Voznesensky Center to other film festivals. According to Bokov, the reason for this development lies in the huge audience that cannot visit Moscow physically and is therefore interested in watching arthouse films online.”
